Junior Watson in Norway

The American guitar player Junior Watson has for several decades been an inspration for guitarists all over the world.  In the 80's after his first solo release "Long Overdue" he became the new "guitar guru" of the blues, with his personal style and mix of elements from blues, jazz, swing, surf and latin.

He had his breakthrough in the 80's as one of the founding members of Rod Piazza's Mighty Flyers. Since then he has been playing with "everybody" on the American west coast blues scene, such as William Clarke, Canned Heat, Hollywood Fats, James Harman, Lynwood Slim, Mark Hummel, Charlie Musselwhite, Jimmy Rogers, George "Harmonica" Smith, John Nemeth and Kim Wilson. In addition he has participated on countless recordings.

In October Watson is touring Norway with a Norwegian backing band. You can catch him at Colorline's blues cruise (17-19), Oset Høyfjellshotell (19), 4Sound Music Store in Oslo (21), Oslo Bluesklubb/Buckleys (22), Nesbyen Musikklubb (23), Dark Season Blues Svalbard (24-26) and Fila Music Corner in Odalen (30).
Junior Watson's band in Norway is Kasper Værnes (sax), Bill Troiani (bass) and Alexander Pettersen (drums).
