Philosophy magazine to release blues book

Agora is the largest philosophy magazine of Norway. Together with their 30th anniversary they release a theme book about blues music. The book which is close to 450 pages is published by Aschehoug, and can be found in stores all over the country. I is a book with a lot of content, covering different aspects of the blues. Arnfinn Åslund writes about blues lyrics, Øyvind Pharo about John Lee Hooker, while Knut Reiersrud ponders if the blues really is Muslim. Jan Erik Vold looks at the shape of the blues lyrics. In addition to this the book also has a presentation of 60 classic blues recordings, from Ma Rainey and Blind Lemon Jefferson in the 1920's, to Stevie Ray Vaughn in the 1980's.
Our December issue will contain a review of the book.
