Salgado to Skånevik

The American soul/blues singer Curtis Salgado pays Norway a rare visit as he appears at Skånevik Blues Festival on July 5th. Salgado, a veteran in the blues scene has earned his living within the blues since the 1960's. Rumour has it that his first band, The Nighthawks, was the inspiration that made his friend, the actor John Belushi start The Blues Brothers Band. During his long career he has shared the stage with many other greats, like Robert Cray, Roomful of Blues and Carlos Santana. He also appears on Mike Zito's 2010 album 'Live From The Top'. The same year he also received the Blues Music Award for 'Soul Blues Artist of the Year'. This year he is nominated to 4 BMA Awards.
